Mr. Jo had some children and teachers interviewed for us so that we could get a better idea of what the current situation is at School for Life and in Thailand right now.

We would like to share them with you here:

How old are you?  —  I am 6 years old.

Since how long are you at School for Life?  —  Two years now.

How do you feel during Pandemic times?

I feel uncomfortable because there are more rules to follow for Covid-19 pandemic.

Do you feel a difference at School for Life since the Pandemic started?  —  Yes, I do.

If yes, what do you feel different?  —  No more volunteers.

How is the situation in your home village?  —  It still opens as usual.

Is there something that you really miss since the Pandemic started?  —  I miss volunteers.

Is there anything that you would like to tell the outside world?

I want everybody come back to our school again.

How old are you?  —  I am 12 years old.

Since how long are you at School for Life?  —  Four years now.

How do you feel during Pandemic times?  —  I feel bad because pandemic lowers my parent’s incomes.

Do you feel a difference at School for Life since the Pandemic started?

Yes, I do.

If yes, what do you feel different?  —  I can’t go out as before.

How is the situation in your home village?  —  It still opens as usual.

Is there something that you really miss since the Pandemic started?

I miss to have class as before and miss volunteers.

Is there anything that you would like to tell the outside world?  — I want this pandemic to finish.

How old are you?  —  I am 15 years old.

Since how long are you at School for Life?  —  Three years now.

How do you feel during Pandemic times?

I feel unconfortable about things, e.g. I have to wear mask almost everywhere I go.

Do you feel a difference at School for Life since the Pandemic started?

Yes, I do.

If yes, what do you feel different?  —  Less people come to visit us. No more volunteers, so no fun as before.

How is the situation in your home village?  —  My vilage is closed. Life is more difficult, e.g. can’t see parents often.

Is there something that you really miss since the Pandemic started?

I miss volunteers and all activities we did together.

Is there anything that you would like to tell the outside world?

I want the pandemic to finish.

Are you a teacher, non-pedagogical staff or the head master?

Answer – I am a teacher.

Do you live at the campus the whole week?

Answer – I live at the campus for the whole week with all staff and students.

How do you feel during the Pandemic time? Name 3 important feelings.

I feel worry about me and people around me how to living, worry about my healthy and feeling unhappy.

In which part of School for Life does the Pandemic has the most important impact according to your opinion?

Answer – About school financial system.

How did the Pandemic influence your own life?

Answer – Yes, very impacted to my life, I lose my all saving money.

How do you think the children feel?

Answer – They are feeling bad due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

How is the situation in your home village?

Answer – My hometown there are more new-effected person in every day, hard and feel sad that we can’t back to visit parent.

What do you know about the situation in the villages of the children?

Answer – I know that they are difficult more than people in town, some of student’s villages is close, you can’t get in and out, they allowed you to buy food only and most of them reject Covid-19 vaccines.

Is there something that you really miss since the Pandemic started?

Answer – I miss my normal life, I love traveling and I miss my family times.

How do you estimate the financial situation of the school?

Answer – I think it unstable right now, that make a big problem for school.

Is there anything that you would like to tell the outside world?

Answer – Everyone in the world is affected, but if you are better now, please help a person who drownings.

Answer – I am a teacher.

  1. Do you live at the campus the whole week?

Answer – I always live with the children.

  1. How do you feel during the Pandemic time? Name 3 important feelings.

Answer – I worry about the bad financial situation of the school.

I worry about teaching and learning in the pandemic time.

I worry about the daily life.

  1. In which part of School for Life does the Pandemic has the most important impact according to your opinion?

Answer – We need enough donation money for living, education and food for teachers and children of the school.

  1. How did the Pandemic influence your own life?

Answer – Living and travelling are not convenient due to the pandemic.

  1. How do you think the children feel?

Answer – The children are not happy because learning is inconvenient since classrooms are not allowed to use and e-learning is not available at our school.

  1. How is the situation in your home village?

Answer – My village is small and there are not so many people in the village. So, the spread of coronavirus is not so dangerous.

  1. What do you know about the situation in the villages of the children?

Answer – In the village, all people have to follow the strict measures like wearing mask, washing hands and social distancing. So, no problem with Covid-19 in my village.

  1. Is there something that you really miss since the Pandemic started?

Answer – I miss the normal situation of daily life and daily work.

  1. How do you estimate the financial situation of the school?

Answer – The financial situation of the school continues to be bad and the reduced salary continues to affect the daily life of teachers in the future.

  1. Is there anything that you would like to tell the outside world?

Answer – I wish all people over the world to survive from coronavirus pandemic, the Covid-19 situation better, and live normal life again.
